12m Oversized Portable Building Transport | SuperTilt with 900mm Extension | Red Tow Melbourne

This project involved the loading and transport of a 12 metre long, 3.2 metre wide and 3.1 metre tall oversized portable building using our extendable SuperTilt system with a 900mm deck extension.

The extended deck configuration allows safe handling of long modular structures by maintaining correct load support, balance and transport geometry throughout the loading and relocation process.

Controlled Loading and Structural Assessment

During this operation, the transport process included SuperTilt positioning and controlled tilt loading, correct weight distribution for oversized transport, use of the 900mm deck extension for long modular structures, inspection of structural elements underneath the building prior to loading, and assessment of the steel sub-frame design with longitudinal beams spaced approximately 2.4 metres apart.

The Importance of Structural Engineering

A properly engineered steel sub-frame is critical for any portable or modular building relocation.

No structural frame means no lifting, no sliding, no craning and no transport.

Portable and modular buildings must be constructed on solid longitudinal beams with reinforced cross-members to safely withstand tilting, winching and road transport forces. Without this engineering, relocation is unsafe and structurally unviable.

Specialised Oversized Transport Capability

Red Tow specialises in oversized portable building transport, modular home relocation, SuperTilt transport services, tiny home and site office moves, and heavy haulage operations across Melbourne and Victoria.

If you are buying, selling or relocating a portable building, structural design is just as important as transport capability. Both must work together to achieve safe and compliant relocation outcomes.
